Array signal processing

Share:

Array signal processing is an important branch in the field of signal processing, which has developed rapidly in recent years, and its applications involve many military and national economic fields such as radar, communication, sonar, earthquake, exploration, radio astronomy and biomedical engineering.

Array signal processing, also known as spatial signal processing, has the advantages of flexible beam control, high signal gain, strong anti-interference ability and high spatial super-resolution, so it has received great attention. The research work related to this is developing and deepening, and its application scope is also expanding. With the rapid development of microelectronics technology, digital signal processing technology and parallel processing technology, the theory and practical application of array signal processing have also been developed rapidly.

Array signal processing is to set a number of sensors in different positions in the space to form a sensor array, and use this row to receive the spatial signal field (multi-point parallel sampling) and processing, the purpose is to extract the signal received by the array and its characteristic information (parameters), while suppressing interference and noise or uninterested information. The array signal processing is different from the general signal processing, because the array is a group of sensors arranged in a certain way at different positions in space, mainly using the spatial characteristics of the signal to enhance the signal and effectively extract the signal spatial information.

Because of the need to sample multiple sensor arrays simultaneously, USRP provides multiple ways to synchronize between channels. Typical applications are shown below.

Array signal processing

In addition, the USRP can also be synchronized through GPSDO or its own synchronization signal input and output. By synchronizing the sampling clock, RF local oscillator and trigger signals between multiple channels, USRP provides good channel consistency and lays a good foundation for array signal processing.
